First A220 Delivered

11th September 2026

After 5 long years of waiting, we have finally received our very first Airbus A220-300 aircraft. Milo, registered as G-BXHM joined us after a multiple day journey from Airbus-Bombardier's facility at Montreal-Mirabel. Stopping first in Manchester for the fitting of equipment and supplies the aircraft needs while in service for us. Manchester Airport is our fleet management base, due to the ongoing capacity limitations at London Heathrow. We plan to move this part of our operation to London Heathrow after the expansion targeted for 2035.

We have been eagerly awaiting the Airbus A220 since it was announced by Synaptic Simulations back in 2021. We always saw the A220 as the key to our short haul European operations, deciding to not pursue the Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 family at the time despite mounting pressure.

So how many Airbus A220's are joining British Atlantic? In total we aim to have 18 of them enter service. All in the same configuration with 148 total seats and a dynamic Style class which can be increased, decreased or removed from any of our flights in a matter of seconds with the simplicity of blocked out middle seats.

As some of you already know, all of our aircraft are expertly painted by HUES. We then receive the aircraft from them and get to work on the finishing touches ourselves such as aircraft specific registrations, nameplates, nose art which is now featured on every single British Atlantic aircraft going forward.

So what's next?

We're in that very process of fine tuning the aircraft, producing the nose art, the door cards and documentation. This will take some time. We want everything to be just right before getting ourselves ready for a soft launch. Stay tuned on our Discord for little updates when they arrive. Or check back here for more articles on the progress as we head towards an official opening of British Atlantic.
